When it really comes down to it, I don't like losing PJ. He's gotten to the point where he's good everywhere - perimeter, inside game, rebounding, man defense, blocks a few shots. If we lost him, I'm not sure we could get back that value.
That is why I mention the mavs need to act in a position of strength. pj and Gafford are good players. They need to act on strength in any trade discussions. For that matter, everyone else. For the most part the Mavs have good/decent players on good/ok contracts.
I have no idea how they make a roster that fits and/or keeps everyone happy with minutes. That doesn’t mean they need to make a move just to make a move that may not make you better as a roster.
