I just can't get on board a Jrue trade.  I think he is a good player and still a very good defender.  Although that contract is tough and he is about to be 35.   For me that is too many old guys making huge numbers for mulitple years.  It may make you better next year, but I think you will start seeing some slipping.   Plus, he really is not a point guard.   He can handle the ball, but I wouldn't say he is a guy to lead offensese full time when he is on the floor.

If I was given the option of keeping Gaff and PJ (even if they didn't extend) or trading a good haul for Jrue, put me in the keep Gaff and PJ.

Yeah, that is the fear.   I am fine on doing the two timelines thing.   I think Lively and Flagg are both win now players.    But I just have a fear if we have 3-4 core players in their mid 30's that things could hit hard where you look in two years and don't have much around Lively and Flagg and are without good draft picks.

So with that being said, if they trade either Gaff or PJ I want similarly aged players back.   I am not sure the team feels the same way though.
