Mavericks get: Anfernee Simons
Lakers get: Daniel Gafford
Blazers get: Maxi Kleber, Caleb Martin, Dalton Knecht, Dwight Powell, Lakers' unprotected 2029 (from Mavericks) and 2031 first-round picks, 2030 swap rights with the Lakers
As the official President of the Simons fanclub, I obviously have to comment.
Are you all aware he has only one year left on his contract? He says I want to go to Dallas and Dallas only, Gafford + Powell + Hardy + 1st should be enough.
Portland can turn around and trade Gafford for another 1st and test Hardy for two years at medium costs. He´s still a 38% career 3pt shooter that needs minutes at SG.
No reason to give up two 1sts. Lakers also basically get Gafford for nothing here, since Knecht is the fee for eating Maxi´s deal.
