Okay, here's a more nuisanced, NBAish,, money driven deal that addresses everyone's needs:
Mavs receive Jrue Holliday, 2025 #20 from Heat (via GSW), #28 from Celtics and #35 from Celtics (via Wiz)
Heat receive PJ, OMax and Hardy
Celtics receive Duncan Robinson (partially guaranteed contract - only $9mil of $19mil is guaranteed in expiring contract - can be immediately waived) and Naji Marshall
Why for Mavs? They get a primary ballhandler and someone who fits the defensive ideology. Plus, in return for taking on longterm money, they get picks in a deep draft and can either stick and pick or combine them, move up into the lottery and grab another young piece that fits Flagg's timeline.
Why for the Heat? They get a valuable defender, who is a cheaper version of Jeremi Grant.
Why for Celtics? Quite simply, they not only move off of significant, aging longterm money, but they immediately cut over $10mil (plus luxury tax money) from their cap. In addition, they pick up a solid SF in Marshall who can offset the huge void left by Odom. Naji has shown that his game can handle additional minutes.
