Nevertheless, the crew chief who was right next to the play admitted he blew the call. I expect they'll be back in Detroit for game 6.When I looked at the replay, it looked, to me, like Tim got the ball in the corner with the clock about to expire. There was a guy coming from his right. Tim jumped, stuck his right leg out to try and make contact to try and draw a foul. In the process he made a very poor, short shot at the basket. Looked an awful lot like a guy flopping to initiate contact. A foul call would've rewarded an acting job. Don't know why the league would come out and say a foul should've been called. Maybe to placate the fans. I sincerely hate flopping to get a call, and that's what I saw. There was contact on the play, but I'm thinking it was due to Tim throwing his leg out in an unnatural motion.
The league said what they said, didn't call a foul in real time, or overturn the results of the game. Those games get rough. They call some stuff, ignore other stuff. They could call a foul on any play and a lot of times it's judgement. There's pulling, tugging, holding, tripping, all sorts of stuff. Some gets called, some does not. That last play, to me, was little of nothing.
