That was a complete robbery. How’d they convince Nico to put in the much better player plus add a decent draft pick?  That’s a fireable offense and shows a complete lack of understanding player value- pure incompetence.

Nico is a terrible negotiator. Abysmal. It's just that simple.

From various accounts, when he decides on a trade/player he likes, he will do "whatever it takes" to make it happen. When Nico comes chasing, the other GM merely has to hesitate - even once the trade is one sided in his favor - and he can be assured he can extract more assets. Nico is clueless about the importance of the assets on the margins of trades, because he thinks "I got the trade done" is all that matters. Dolt.

Morey saw Nico GIVING a pick in the Luka deal. He knew he merely needed to bide his time, and he could get one too. "We need our 2nd rounder back, if we're to do a deal" and then wait.
