Luka Dealt to Lakers: Nico Harrison is a Basketball Terrorist

This board and you, wab, in particular, are awesome. But I think this post is wrong in my case. I believe I’m actually on the verge of a conversion here. I don’t just seem to like the Lakers now, in spite of myself. I also seem to hate the Mavs organization. Not the players. But the organization. Whomever it is I can blame for deciding to donate $100 million to the Trump campaign and not pay Luka.

To be honest, I'm in flux with my viewpoint on all this changing, morphing by the day. 
I've had to distinguish between "organizations" and "teams."  Organizations care about cha-ching, the greenbacks rolling in, whether from parking, a pint of Guiness sold or ticket packages, while teams focus on winning.
Initially, Cuban blurred the difference, buying the team as a fan, but he's turned into a minority shareholder shouting at "rowdy" fans, telling them to "sit the f*** down and shut the f*** up."  Meet Mark Adelson.
My position on this has morphed into "rewarding loyalty with loyalty."  Since Luka's intention was to be a Mavs "lifer," my response is to be a Luka "lifer."  Just as I've watched every Mavs game since Nellie flew to Wurzburg to drink beer with Dirk's dad, I'll watch every Luka game whether his dad is in the stands or not. 
One more thing:  Luka doesn't owe me 21 or 22 years of NBA ball.  If he wants to take the Barry Sanders route, retiring early with his family on a farm in Slovenia, before his body is crippled with arthritis, more power to him and his.
