Just playing devils advocate a bit. But, if it’s picks you want, the Mavs have several players that are positive assets in the trade market. At any point they can get picks by trading Kyrie, Davis, Washington, Klay, Christie, Lively, Gafford, etc.
That’s not the path that the front office is choosing. They think they can compete with the Thunder, Cavs and Celtics of the world with how this roster is currently built and then adding to it in the roster building windows.
I think they’re wrong but I hope we get to see them at full strength to find out.
