I think he resigns in LAL. They tend to treat stars well. Although, I think the next few years for the Lakers will be fascinating. I think they currently have a pretty good team. I am not sure it is good enough to win 2 or 3 rounds in the playoffs, but they can give anyone trouble in a series.
I am sure this summer they will upgrade their center rotation.
The thought process was this is Luka's team now. Lebron is so freaking good though. While letting him walk in a year and half may be the best strategy. Will LAL be able to find someone as good as Lebron over the next few years. Plus, Luka is loyal. You remember how he handled Carlisle treating that big center? How would Luka react if he senses the Lakers are pushing away Lebron? Maybe this takes care of itself ina year and a half. What happens if Lebron is still close to what he is now? Lebron has never been one to take a 50% discount. Things tend to work out for the Lakers, but the next few years are going to be interesting to see how they can contend in the short term and also set themselves up for the longterm.
