I don’t think Dallas fans are particularly loyal to players over team. Luka is just the exception. He’s our MJ. He has an entertaining style that transcends the NBA and we drafted him. I was prepared to ride or die with him as a fan, no matter how it turned out. He’s the only area athlete like that I can recall except maybe someone like Staubach. I’ll still root for him, like I did Nash when he left but also the Mavs. I have to admit AD and Max just seem like super good dudes the more I get to know them. I hope they’re successful here. But it won’t be the same.
