The roster doesn't make sense. No big trade though, please. I am all traded out.
I loved our center rotation. Thought it was such a strong point with our previous team. Love Lively present and future and thought Gafford really complimented him and the team. Now, Gafford seems like a odd part. You can't trade him now with Lively out for a month or two longer.
I have no idea how good of a PF AD can be. I can envision Lively and AD causing havoc, but it could also be awkward. Lively will really need to expand his offensive game to get the most out of the pairing. For it to work they both will need to be in the closing lineup. If not, that is less than ideal. Both players should be two of your three/four best players.
I have grown to love PJ as a 4. I am less than thrilled with him at 3. If he is really a 37% three point shooter than this could work. Maybe 15 minutes at three and the rest at 4. While he is a pretty good straight line driver, I am less thrilled of him doing this more from the three. I think he is better doing it against bigger players.
With that front court, the Kyrie and Klay backcourt just doesn't work for me. You have one guy who can create and he is much better as a scorer. Just seems like a really odd pairing. Although, I don't think they would bring klay off the bench. And who else can fill that need on the roster?
I don't know how you can say with a straight face that this teams roster is ready to win now. It doesn't fit.
