There is also a ton of pressure on Luka to win chips with the Lakers, after LeBron leaves. They traded for Luka for the future. Dallas won this trade in the short term. What if he doesn't get it done? Will Nico be vindicated? Will he have the last laugh? This is about the Mavs didn't trust Luka to give him that Super Max because they knew he's not serious about his conditioning and dedication to his body. I think this trade is a wakeup call for his career.
