The defender they should pursue imo is DJJ, who offers more on offense than Thybulle and had a good fit in Mavs scheme, but even he may not be close enough to a 2-way solution.
I am looking for small upgrades. He would probably not be in the main rotation, but could be an investment for future. Tough to find a trade that works out. Thybulle hasn't been playing with an injury, and Portland fans seem to be pretty positive of him staying there.
I just think having a bucket getter (Hardy) or a good perimeter defender (Thybulle), I think the good perimeter defender is more important to this team.
I think DJJ idea is not going to happen. I actually think that decision DJJ, Clipppers, Mavs is one that worked out good for all parties. The story on that one is the Mavs were able to pivot quickly and recover. Old Mavs front office would have been left holding the bag.
