It really sounds like Zion moved into a McDonald´s with Dr. Oz as his personal trainer and doctor.
The idea of Zion and reality of Zion are two different things. He is a nice player to watch, but if you are contending for a championship, he can't be on one of the 5 most important players on the team.
He already went from the ''next face of the league'' to the level where everybody quitted on him. In my opinion also Pelicans with that contract quitted on him and knew something media doesn't. In my opinion they are just waiting on some desperate offer for him, but becuase of his big salary it will be hard to match that contract.
Also, Zion isn't trying to play impactfull defense and his off-ball play is even worse. That, compared with his injury concerns, his ideal role could be 6 man, to add scoring to the second unit and his injuries won't bothering results of the team.
I also don't like his comments, on how he'd like to play for the Knicks. That is just disrespectfull to the organization who drafted you and is paying you millions while you are not playing.
Only way i'm interested in Zion would be if the Pels cut him and he is ready to accept salary around 15 mil. per season, while we are not sending anything important for him.
Current season showed us that we had a really good offseason. I know that peopple were expecting more, but for the first part of the season are incredibly good. Yes, we had some losses, but our only priority is to be the best at the end of the season.
I think some of people are not delighted by Klay's performances, but i think he slowly started catching the rythm. Naji is also impressive, Spencer is inconsistend, but, exactly as i was expecting before the season. As the role of the 6 man he is thriving.
Also Grimes, Omax and Hardy showed us that they can play and that they can be impactfull role players in the future. And we are also getting Exum back.
The only thing we are missing is that backup power forward or maybe small forward if Naji will play backup 4.
Signign Paul Reed and then trading Powell + Kleber (plus 2 round picks) to the sellers team would be ideal.
