I haven't been watching the Mavs SL games but I'm seeing people say in the game threads that O-Max and Ajinca haven't been showing much on offense. So I'm wondering if it makes sense for the Mavs to take a flyer on someone like Ziaire, by adding him to their G-League squad and grooming him to play a defined 3&D role. Could he then maybe become a suitable backup to Luka and/or PJW?

He's making 6.1 mil for the next year. Which is a crazy amount of money for a project. 

Memphis fan forums basically say the guy is always injured or in the process of rehabbing an injury, which stops him from working on his game/building anything. Sounds familiar? KP 2.0. 

Even worse, when he was healthy he just constantly underperformed and went largely unnoticed while on the court.

I'd rather just wait for him to be waived and let him sign on the G-League team then rather than give up any sort of assets.
