Shamet was just one option to get rid of THJ. I serioulsy doubt they add another non-point GUARD to this roster. Therefore complete non-story to me.

OR

Hear me out... A Shamet signing could be a signal from the FO that they are all in on revamping the offense and adding in a bunch more movement in it. Shamet is a movement shooter, though not on the same level as Klay. 

Getting Shamet basically would let the Mavs continue playing a "Klay-lite" player if they wanted to while Klay is on the bench. 

Could also be good Hardy insurance.


I don't think he's an actual target, given no one but one account tweeted the Mavs were going to go after Shamet. But I can rationalize the thinking if they are targeting him.
