DJJ had the right attitude coming in. I think DSJ is humbled in the same way. He could take that same attitude and wait patiently for opportunities
In fact i could see a similar situation. If Grimes gets hurt (has a history) we are screwed at POA.
DJJ has more length. DSJ can dribble, attack and distribute better. Both poor shooters. Both great athletes that play above the rim. Both quick. Both lob threats, but DJJ better. Both are elite on ball defenders. DJJ has better block ability. DSJ better at steals.
It makes some sense on several levels as a CYA move with DJJ gone
He is the right age too imo. I like these guys 26/27 who were either top picks who never advanced to the big second contract guys. I especially like the guys who may have been stuck on bad teams who can get lost with all the younger players that are being brought in. Most don't pan out, but I think there is a sweet spot for these types of players.
