Maybe as a starter or even 2nd guard off the bench. But as a 3rd stringer playing once a week if needed? I think he could thrive in that role.

Lowry is 38 (39 before the regular season ends) 6.0 ft guard. How many of those were able to contribute to winning even in limited role? Even CP3 was washed up at this point.
We got our quota of old declining championship players with Klay, we have another champion in Kyrie. 
I prefer a more of hunger and looking for my next contract type of guy tbh.
