IF the Mavs sign DSJ, it should tell us something about how they view Grimes' injury status and just general readiness for the season, imo. That would be disappointing, because Grimes, unlike DSJ, can shoot.
But, most of us have assumed that if the Mavs are looking for a guard, they're probably looking for a point guard. That's DSJ's position on defense, but he's about the worst fit I can imagine for this team (or most others) on offense. Playing PG here means creating shots through dribble penetration and being a shooting threat yourself. These are not DSJ's strong suits.
