TRADE: Isaiah Roby to OKC | Justin Patton (to be waived) + $800K to DAL

Huh? I am pretty sure this is just 1 single move that pays OKC a little bit to get a player they can waive for cheaper. Not sure if Mavs will have any dead cap money since Patton's deal was not guaranteed past this year. Roby obv had a big deal (kind of a dumb deal maybe?) that would have had a decent chunk of dead cap. Something you want to avoid if you can help it.

I am happy the Mavs aren't going to waste any spots on developmental players for now anyway. I also don't expect them to draft and keep a player with their 2 picks this summer either. I think those will be traded for *something* that isn't a developmental player that will never get any minutes. G league can handle those.
