We could have signed him before negotiations with Klay even got started. We had Marshall signed almost immediately after FA opened up (and it was discovered the new agent was problematic). There was very little buzz about KT when the Marshall trade went public at that point. (And then we discovered the new agent apparently wasn't problematic)
DJJ was a starter, but he only averaged just over 23 MPG. I'm not sure that would change much no matter who starts.
It seems like something else to me.
