Im thinking Klay’s starting number is 20-25M and Mavs are not able to fit him and DJJ..Marshall at a lower cost to DJJ was Plan B. DJJ was probably not accepting a lower number and a reduced role, if Klay is onboard.

This, sadly, is what I’m expecting now, too. 

They are not waiting around a week to try to hard sell DJJ on taking less than what has been discussed, which they know they have to do because they’re about to have to bid too much for Thompson to wrestle him away from LAL. 

This isn’t looking great at the moment.
