I went to sleep last night feeling like the Mavs were coming off of an NBA Finals appearance, had just had a good draft (considering) and had made a truly inspired trade to get a player they were interested in using in order to dump the contract of a player they weren't, opening up all sorts of possibilities that might make them better.

Tonight, I will go sleep feeling like the Mavs are about to be a play-in team, and not a damn thing has actually happened other than chatting with other fans.

If it helps, Denver has taken a step back. KCP moving on would be a huge hit for them. They also traded Reggie Jackson. He was huge for them as depth.

Conley makes Minny run. He's a year older.

Boston just lost KP for 6 months.

Yes OKC could be looked at as getting better with the Caruso trade. While he has good percentages he isn't a volume shooter. 

The Clippers just took a step back.

Dallas added a player they didn't have in Grimes. Resign DJJ and with growth in the roster alone will help them be better than last year.

Then again I'm an optimist. lol
