All of this is predicated on the idea that LAL gets DJJ.  That changes a bunch of what we've presumed the last few days.

Why are we predicating things on that idea? Has anyone aside from Grant Aseth made that connection? He’s insightful, but at the end of the day he is a small time Dallas guy, uber focused on Jones. Do we think giving the MLE to a non-spacer is likely to be the Lakers’ first major move after hiring JJ Redick, who talked for an hour at his introductory press conference about “generating more good threes?”

There might be a team angling to convince Jones to leave the Mavericks, but I would bet any amount of money I could get my hands on that the Lakers aren’t it.
