This makes very little sense. Shamet is not a buy low candidate. Shamet is a "pay me something to take his contract" candidate. He is basically a worse version of THJ being way overpaid at MLE level for next two seasons. I just don't see how taking his contract would help solve the DJJ situation. Green+THJ for Shamet with no assets attached on either side?

If that deal is possible, I'd have to assume there'd be some draft capital coming back to Dallas. I mean, I know Dallas is out there with the goal of lowering payroll, but they'd also be doing Washington a favor by taking the extra years of Shamet. I don't get this, either. Hopefully, they're discussing Shamet as some sort of possible add on to an Advija deal. 

One thing I'm really starting to buy: I don't think Jones is going to require the full MLE. The rumors (if any of them are even true) seem to point to the idea that Dallas is operating as if it has a path figured out for DJJ already, and it doesn't seem to require Hardaway's contract.
