Problem is, the Nuggets want to do everything in their power to keep KCP. They're not trying to lose him. He's threatening (or will do it and giving them a heads up) of opting out of his current deal to sign for a more lucrative one. 

If he does that, it may put the Nuggets in such a cap bugaboo that they have no choice but to let him go. There are already a lot of strong rumors that Philly is going to throw a big contract at KCP.

I also heard Orlando is in the mix.
