You know what player had horrible conditioning and it showed? Anthony Edwards. He was literally sucking oxygen on the bench against the Mavs while Luka decimated that whole team.
His conditioning is fine up until the point where he starts to collect minor injuries. I think that is what slows him down more than anything else. Would assume that it also has an impact on his weight. Difficult enough to fit training sessions into the regular season schedule. Even worse when you have to include off days because the ankle/knee just isn't responding well. Training volume goes down and if he isn't adjusting his eating/drinking habits accordingly his overall conditioning suffers even more.
