Green had a great game and outside of Exum the only other consistent dude on offense that hit a shot. He showed a ton of aggression. That blow by on Saddiq Bey for the reverse slam was cathartic.
If DJJ is out significant time (and I suspect he will be out till at least the all-star break), do the Mavs take a look at Luka/Kyrie/Green/Exum/Lively as a starting lineup? Is there such a thing as too much ball handling?
Has there been any report on Jones?
Exum has a chance to be a real important swiss army knife. I think off the bench is best for him. One, due to his injury history and he fits in much better when he enters the game and can be aggressive. That starting spot to begin games is basically wait until Luka (or Kyrie) pass you a wide open three. Green is fine in this role and I think it helps his confidence too. Exum really seems to play nicely with Luka and Kyrie. I love how he is always looking to push the pace. BTW, it feels like Green is shooting around 80% from three on those early transition corner threes.
I haven't seen enough defense from this team yet, but a starting level good power forward would really start cleaning things up. If Jones is out, this will be an important time for Grant Williams. He didn't really do anything to annoy me yesterday, so that is a change. Whether he is starting level is debatable, but he should definitely be a productive 25 minute a game player.
