I have been reading this kind of line for several offseasons now
In the end, the goal is to actually get the right pieces in your team building approach. There are only so many right pieces out there. So you can go year after year skipping what could be the right pieces because they look too expensive, signing what are not the right pieces at market deals. Or you actually pull the trigger at some point. The question for me is not so much the price/salary, but if a player is the right piece.
