Yeah, I have liked KP's play.  But routinely I go back and look at the box score and his shooting percentages are usually pretty low.  Need to correct that.   I also agree with JVG last night about his long range threes.    Lets cool that for a little while.  He makes them at times but he was 1-7 last night and 28% from three this year.   Lets cool the long range three and the early possession threes from him for now imo.  We can revisit if/when his percentages increase.

As far as the Mavs go, I still say they are both not too far off and a far way off from being a championship team.    They need another player or two, but if they can get Luka to play to his peak while getting the most out of our role players than this is a dangerous team.   Add better shooting from three plus keeping the pace up and a healthy KP and you can see an outline.

On the other hand, until this team can execute in the last 5 minutes of a game they will never be a serious contender.    I didn't really have a problem with this last night but maybe because they hit two prayer shots (Hardaway and Maxi).   It has been an issue for a while.  They typically don't get good shots late.   The offense goes back to no ball movement.   I would have thought they would have figured this out by now.  I did like Kidd wanted the team to push the ball late in the game rather than slowing the pace down.

KP three shot has not been falling...I agree completely.  

But...I suggested on Discord last week that KP try the long bomb threes to see if that will get him out of the three slump.   He was bombing threes in the Bubble...from logo at ease and making them.  He is capable of that shot.   This year he has not been using that shot(which is good because its not a high percentage shot)...he has been taking threes from normal distance...but not hitting at a good clip.

I didnt notice KP taking particularly long threes last night.   I must have glanced away from one because I did hear JVG talking about a long KP three shot.   

Anyway...Im ok with KP trying the Long Bomb three to see if he hits that at a better clip.   As long as it doesnt become the norm because I dont like that shot unless its Curry.

Kidd thought its a good idea to bench KP ??? Game was tied in OT. Rim protection matters too. KP looked completely mad being benched. The next ultimate blunder is keeping one the worst perimeter defenders the league has seen in THJ in the game. You have Frank, you have Green? How on earth you decide to go with THJ to get a stop. Thats like subbing in Josh Green for a late poss to score.

THJ was the primary defender all night on Reaves, they pretty much guarded each other And yet he had the audacity to blame others on defense, when he cant guard a chair.

He looked very pissed in a camera shot walking off the court after the loss.  

Hopefully Kidd talked him through the decision and there is no lasting frustration.

On a last play like that...KP isnt slow...but dont you want quicker guys on the court?
