Excellent recap, as always mavsluvr.
I have been lurking for a couple of weeks now but I check in after every game to enjoy your recaps and the great discussions around here.
Keep up the good work guys, life has me in her tight bitchy grips but I will never stop appreceating you guys.
My thoughts:
KP looks better than ever. He's even better than in the bubble, because he's not forcing things, he's just balling. I wrote in the KP thread that it's a 3-factor-thing:
- he's healthy and really mobile (for now...)
- he has accepted his role as the co-star (he is way more positive and looks like he actually wants to be there)
- he does not get treated like Kelly Olynik
The problem is that I have zero doubts that he will suffer a major injury again. But we should still appreciate the level of play. He is clearly a special kind of player, when healthy. Even the pick and roll with Luka is a thing now, and I love it.
However, given his history, you HAVE to trade him. What makes it worse: I don't believe a deal sufficient for Cuban will come up. That means we are stuck with KP, for better or worse.
Loved the win and this tea is definitely improved but we still go as far as KP's health goes... if he stays healthy, I think we can be a contender this year (because, obviously, Luka is the best player on the planet and makes you instantly relevant). Albeit "contender" this year means like one out of ten teams who could possibly win it all.
mavsluvr, what do you think about Kidd as a coach? I like what he has tried so far, I like, whatever he has done, to start the Luka-KP-action. Is he as good a coach as his rhetoric (meaning: he's shit) or is he underrated?
