The goofy intentional foul with 11 seconds left set up a chain of events that almost led to another Jason Kidd coaching special.  But, the Mavs held on due to some spectacular play by Brunson.  Another rough game for Luka, particularly on the defensive end. When you watch in person you can really see how teams take advantage of him and how often his emotional outbursts lead to 5 on 4 opportunities.

I am not high on Kidd´s coaching ability but I do think that his in game decisions have been pretty good. I am pro intentional foul in those kind of situations. And it worked out. Turned a one point lead with 13.9s to go into a four point lead with 10s to go. Also burned the last Spurs timeout.
Plan to intentionally miss the last Brunson FT was also good but the execution was bad.
