More detailed examples of how tough it is for two guys with center instincts to coexist on the court, offensively. If these two guys are having this much trouble, imagine how hard it is for Christian Wood to wrap his head around playing two different positions.

Interestingly, the "no traditional center" route is what has fueled Utah's unexpected rise to the top of the WC. Their bigs are Markannen and Olynyk, providing some size-with-spacing, and they employ multiple penetrating guards who create the offense (Conley, Sexton, Clarkson). Sprinkle in a 3-and-D defender or two, and bam it's an unexpectedly good team.

It´s astonishing that some teams are slow to jump on the train. 5-out spacing. Multiple ballhandlers. Switchable and versatile defenders. Some size. It´s not rocket science when most fans are smart enough to understand that it´s leading to better results than early 00s lineups and spacing.

Same for basic stuff like spain pick and roll. A coach that isn´t asking his team to spam it probably spent the last 10 years under a rock.

Sounds an awful lot like a team I enjoyed watching last season.

I think, hope, the Mavs realize this.  Hardaway just creates a log jam.   I hope he plays well here and can eventually be moved in time.   I think I would feel much better if this team replaced Hardaway with a guy who could break down defenses and get to the rim.   Hopefully this player is not a smallish player too.

For me, while it is still early, I view Dinwiddie as the third guy.    Maybe my thoughts will change over time, but I think he works best working off a lead guy.

He's almost as corny as LeChina
"The Dallas Mavericks must do everything they can to get Olivier-Maxence Prosper."
