If they aren't the 8th seed then they would want the 10th seed (again so Irving could play) but then they would need to win twice on the road

They're very capable of winning twice on the road.

LeBron passes Karl Malone and is the 2nd leading scorer in NBA history. That's a hell of a accomplishment in his 19th year. Kareem is next.

So, this could be a mask for problems between he and the Kings regarding the shrinking of his role since signing his contract. I'm sure that's what many of us are assuming in the back of our minds. I'm not sure I like that he is handling it this way, if that's the case.

Or, there might actually be something going on in his personal life that's causing him to have a down season, possibly affecting him even before the recent trade for Sabonis. THAT would give me a little hope that he could actually bet the guy everyone around here wants him to be (if the Mavs can get him).

Either way, he's clearly not a fit with Sabonis, so yeah, he's gone.

I thought someone mentioned a death in his family that he was really struggling with.  It could be (and probably is) a combination of things.  I'm really surprised they did not move him at the TDL after the Sabonis trade.

And to think nobody even knew he was hurt until he hobbled into training camp.

Isn't Shams never wrong? How badly did he hurt himself ramping up to return? How fragile is Zion?

I think it's safe to say, Minnesota is legit. They could prove to be problematic in the playoffs even without experience.

D'Lo the facilitator and #3 has been a big development for them.  They also have some very nice complimentary pieces around their top 3.  Pat Bev is annoying to watch against your team but I'm pretty sure I would love him in a Mavs uniform.

Vanderbilt, Reid, Nowell and Prince are solid role players as well.

If they can get McDaniels back and Beasley can find some efficiency as their 6th man, they are a legit 10 deep team.

Their defense will be the issue in the playoffs.

Watching ATL vs NYK,

Capela is such a force defensively. Robinson is a little more wild there but has more polish around the rim offensively.

If Robinson is really looking to get around 12-14 mil I think he'd be a great fit.

As an aside Trae really is a horrid defender.

GSW lost to ORL, if the Mavs can't catch them, maybe Utah can.  I would rather play GSW at the 4-5.

Golden state lost to Orlando. They have a B2B tomorrow vs Miami. Utah plays in Boston.

A GSW team sans Steph is a helluva lot less scarier than UTA to me at least.
