The Bulls are 2-13 vs the top teams in the league. Not good. They truly miss Ball, Caruso and Williams. 0-2 vs Heat with a game remaining, 0-3 vs Philly with a game remaining, 1-1 with Cavs with 2 games left, 0-2 vs Bucks with 2 left, 0-1 vs Suns with a game left, 0-2 vs GS, 0-2 vs Memphis, 1-0 vs Jazz with one left. They split with Mavs.

Robert Williams of Boston is turning into a monster for them on defense and his rim runs. Boston has really turned it around after a uneven start, as they are the top rated defense in the NBA currently.

Luka is still #1, but Ja has leaped to #2 while Trae's star seems to have faded some. Gordon and SGA are JAGs at this point, to me.
Luka goes without saying. If anyone had doubts early in the season if he was still a force, they only have to look at results since he got back from the Covid/injury time out.
I'm feeling like Ja is the new, shiny toy that catches everyone's attention. I worry about injuries long term whenever you have someone whose game is based on trying to touch the ceiling every time (see Rose, Derrick). But he's certainly a highlight reel right now and his team is winning.
I feel a little sorry for Trae. He's a phenomenal offensive talent, but seems to be a defensive burden. Given newer young talent and ATL's mediocre record, he may not make the All NBA squads and miss out on his supermax adder.

Luka is the clear #1. I think Garland was underrated there. Kid can play. I would have voted SGA last. I think he NEEDS a pg. Would actually work well in the current mavs team with multiple PGs on the floor at all times. But can't understand voting Garland last of that bunch. If I was starting a team, not sure that I would take Trae above anyone on that list. Maybe SGA? If SGA was in ATL and Trae in OKC, how would that look? If you put Garland in ATL, they are the top seed, imo. It can be hard to compare players in different situations sometimes, but I generally think Trae's bad D is a big issue.

When Jokic got serious about conditioning he was able to take his game to another level. I am hoping Luka will continue to take conditioning serious as he still has some baby fat to loose.

With Green on the floor, it just opens things up and teams are chasing Steph all over the floor and you either lose Steph for a three or Draymond creates another easy look for someone else.
I haven't seen much of the warriors with Klay back. I just have a feeling the Warriors are a player short. It is probably unfair to expect the all star level of Klay back at this point. The Warriors are good, but I just feel like they are a notch below the other top teams.
They are in a interesting spot. Win now players but they also have several really interesting pups. It will be interesting if those two ends can combine to make them really, really good when Steph is still really, really good.
Agreed. Green is the oil that keeps that engine running smoothing. Steph is the engine. And a Ferrari engine is still a Ferrari even if it requires a crap ton of maintenance in it's later life.
Speaking of bad contracts... What do the Warriors do with Klay if he doesn't really return to form? Because even if he's not Klay anymore I'd be heavily interested in adding him.

NBA young point guard survey - Ranking six of the league's rising floor generals (espn.com)
In a future related story, 4 league scouts/execs fired for incompetence.
Ja is a stud. He is also a highlight reel. He is and will be one of the NBA’s most marketable players provided he stays healthy. All that said, any GM/Scout/Exec that would actually take him over Luka to start a team is terrible at their job.
It’s fun for media and fans to debate, but if tomorrow the NBA instituted a fantasy draft for all teams, there is no FO in the league taking Ja over Luka.
