I would love to take 1 Dragon in return for 1 Willie. I know we'd need to add more salary, which makes any Dragic trade hard, but that's the general framework I'm working with.

DeMar DeRozan just as a talent is good enough to make me think about going all in on a deal for him. He can't shoot the 3 reliably, but he can still definitely put the ball in the hoop a lot. He's the sole reason why SAS are in the playoffs right now.

That would be a pretty dream scenario. However, I wonder what IND is looking to do if they get rid of those two. In all honesty, moving them looks like a start to a full rebuild. KP would probably look really good next to Sabonis though IMO.

JJ Reddick here would be lethal. Unfortunately I think he's headed straight to Brooklyn.

My guess would be Philly, but East coast for sure.

Pascal seems to be blowing up in TOR.
Crazy how much can happen in 6 short months.

I can't decide if he's truly a star or if he got his last contract on the coattails of Kawhi and the expectations are starting to catch up with him. But either way, I'd be interested for sure if Toronto decides to trade him as well as part of their reboot.

Agreed. Those who've watched as much of Reddick's self-created internet content as I have know that he's been trying to get to Brooklyn (at his wife's request) for years now.

Reddick-Dinwiddie swap makes too much sense. I think probably the Nets think they can get somebody for Dinwiddie AND sign Reddick once he’s bought out

See to me, this might argue in favor of going the cap room path this summer, espeicially if Miami goes all in for someone like Lowry at the deadline.
I don't care how many names have come off the board - Dallas potentially being the best team with cap room presents opportunities, imo.

It still depends where player wants to go. And past has shown, that teams can find a way to sign a player even if over the cap.

Oh, for sure!
I just have a feeling they'll be able to put that space to use, either by signing someone we can't predict, or by absorbing the type of money that teams aren't currently dangling right now, being that this is the first TDL of the "play-in era."
I would feel differently if it was still Miami, Dallas and (a good) Toronto. But I just have a feeling that being the last of that trio standing might lead to good things. Possibly better things than are available right now (though I'm not opposed to pulling the trigger right now, if there IS something good).
NY's slight success clouds the issue a little, I suppose.

Agree with this that it’s something to monitor if one of the top guys shows interest in us. However, even after Miami takes whoever they want, OKC/SAS/NYK have so much cap room that they can facilitate getting any player to whatever their first choice team is. It happens every year. OKC will just take on whatever contracts are needed to make the space and will be compensated. Even the RFA’s in recent years moving through sign and trade

Right, but this is kind of my exact point. I'm suggesting that DALLAS could perform that function, too, and would be the best landing spot (with Miami out of it) for any player being moved by a team trying to do right by him.
