GA's to-do list:
Step 1: Inform Miami he's not going there. (They sign Bam to a max extension.)
Step 2: Inform the Lakers he's not going there. (They sign LBJ and Davis to long-term deals.)
Step 3: Inform Milwaukee he's not signing the extension and plans to leave. < You are here.
Step 4: Inform Dallas he wants to be a Mav. Either now via trade or in '21 via FA.

Quote:It was posted about that Greek Interview: https://www.reddit.com/r/MkeBucks/commen...hat_aired/
Too bad you guys cannot understand the full video interview. Giannis expresses himself alot better in Greek and gives an insight to his character. Seems like a guy who tries to carve his own way through life and won't settle imitating another superstar.
Having said that, the most concerning part of that interview for the Bucks fans is his relationship with Spanoulis and what advice the latter gave him. From that article:
"Giannis took some advice from Vasilis Spanoulis, a 3 time Euroleague champion, top Euroleague scorer and passer in its history, Giannis said he took the most wise basketball advice from him but Spanoulis never said to the show when he was asked what he actually told him, according to Giannis it was in the meaning of: "if you really want to win then u must lose this and this" but it was wise in a vulgar way (non Greeks wont understand) and he couldnt share it."
The above translation is not exact.
The question was if one of the athlete celebrities he had contacted during the summer gave him any advice that sounded to him strange. Giannis smiled and immediately thought of Spanoulis. He warned he would not share the info. His words was that the advice sounded strange to him at first but made a lot of sense later on the more he thought about it. He said that it was in the order of "If you want to win you have to do this and that".
Why this seems important to us Greeks?
Because Spanoulis is considered to be one of the biggest traitors in team sports. He left Panathinaikos to sign with Olympiacos. These two teams are the worst rivals in Greek sports and up to this day he is one of the most hated players when he steps foot in Panathinaikos' home court.
Before you all commit suicide, as I said at the beginning, this interview reveals a whole lot about Giannis' character and he seems as someone who does not follow advices blindly, but seeks to find his own way to do things...
Maybe we got recruitment help from Spanoulis
Saw it on Realgm in the Giannis topic on the Bucks forum, a bit much speculation, but poster is probably greek.

Very considerate from Giannis not to make his Mavs trade request, while the site was down, but we are ready now...

How do the Heat have a chance at all?
I thought they blew their chance when they signed Bam

They can still get the space, if he wants to sign there. It would hurt them to do it, for sure, but it's possible.

He is messing a bit much on social media to not sign a contract with the Bucks. Posting a picture of himself in a car smiling ...
If he isn't signing on his birthday tomorrow would surprise me.

According to the Athletic, they really have limited ability to get Giannis unless it is a sign and trade
Less Than a Max Slot
While the Miami Heat can still get to a max slot if necessary, Bam Adebayo’s extension makes that significantly more painful since they will start the 2021 offseason with about $24 million in space and no contracts for players they are happy to move. That $24 million will likely go down as well because both Duncan Robinson and Kendrick Nunn should reach the starter criteria this season, which increases both their qualifying offer and cap hold from $2.1 million each to about $4.7 million, wiping out another $5 million in spending power. [Were in “Max-Plus” in mid-November.]

Right, but this is referring to their original plan to ADD Giannis to the great team they have in place. THAT is no longer possible, now that they've extended Adabayo.
To get to a max slot, they'd have to say goodbye to Robinson, Nunn, Herro...pretty much everyone but Butler and Adabayo. That's why I said it would hurt. Still, it's possible, and all of their guys are very movable. There's a Pelton quote about how they could do it a few pages back, I think.
Alternatively, they could keep all of those guys and make Adabayo available. The line for him would form to the left.
