It took a Cooper Flagg lottery mulligan to begin to stanch the civic bleeding among Mavericks fans after Dončiċ’s departure. I will not believe that the team’s new owners decided they weren’t going to pay Dončić the $350 million extension for which he was eligible and, thus, were quite amenable when told by then-general manager Nico Harrison that he wanted to move on from the young star.

Yeah, I think it is pretty obvious Cuban would not have traded Luka. Although, he did lose both Nash and Brunson for nothing. Both were major screwups. Maybe cost him another championship along the way somewhere.
Also, let it be known that he run post championship was really bad. The funny thing, I still think Cuban is living in denial about how bad he was running the team after the championship. For years I put some blame on Donnie. He probably deserved some, but I think Cuban was the real reason for the poor direction after the championship. So while he would not have traded Luka, would he have been able to built a sustainable contender around him. That is debatable imo.

Not to mention he hired Nico to a role he was not suited for (and didn't really play) and then sold the team leaving Nico in that role. He was very good for this organization right up to the championship but has been a net negative ever since and I would argue nearly as culpable for the recent shit show as Nico was.

To consolidate a theme... Nash did not set the world on fire when he came over from Phoenix.
He already had at least two years of NBA experience, albeit behind Kevin Johnson AND Kidd.
Nash's delay in development was one of the reasons that Nellie brought in Howard Eisley in the summer of 2000, and between the two of them early that year we struggled to identify a starting caliber NBA point guard on the roster.
By the end of the season it was Nash and it wasn't really close.
This was the beginning of Nellie showing mark how to increase talent by expanding the payroll via trades rather than drafting players. This was an important (and ultimately unfortunate) turn of events as the 2000 Draft was the worst in history and mark had just used assets to get 3 of them in the first round. This lends to mark devaluing the draft (outside of the top 5 or 6) and ultimately grew his confidence that he was the smartest guy in the room when it came to the CBA and spreadsheets.

In an interview with DLLS Mavs, Nowitzki shared that he had discussions with Ujiri on a potential comeback to the franchise. "Everybody knows that I pulled back there for a while; there were some things done that I didn't agree with, and I kind of just pulled back from the franchise. But I know Masai for a long time. We've already had some discussions on what's going to transpire in the future, and he obviously wants me to be a part of the Mavericks," Nowitzki detailed.

If nothing else, rebuilding this bridge will make Ujiri a good hire.

I live over 100 miles from Dallas--which causes all kinds of problems trying to watch Mavs games regardless if I pay certain streaming services...and this includes MavsTV. In some cases more than 75% of the games were blacked out due to living in the "viewing area".
Last year I set up a small antenna outside and started using over the air, or OA, broadcast TV to a usb TV tuner for one of my computers. It worked great. I got to see every single Mavs game for free.
I hope that still works this year. I understand that the broadcast stations are trying to get out of the federally mandated rule for providing free OA TV.
This is just one--perhaps the best--way I've learned to watch the Mavs play.

I like it because I often can’t watch live and it’s nice to have the replay available. Also they will compress the game so you can watch without commercial breaks or timeouts.

Out of state you have to also get NBA League pass, but other than some of the National TV games I have been able to watch every Mavs game, so other than the cost it has work well. I will point out that NavsTV has sent a 75 dollar code so you can get Mavs gear from the Mavs Shop. Where I live can't get Mavs, Thunder and Grizzles when playing home games, unless a national game.

Prime has League Pass for a second season. The nice thing with Prime is that you can just purchase Mavs games as opposed to having to purchase the entire package. My renewal rate was $89 for this season which I don’t think is bad at all.

Thanks I will look into it. I started on streaming only, but keeping tracking what each does is pain, I have prime but I didn't realize I could sign up for MavsTV on the side. I know I was one of the first Mav TV sign up, I had emailed Cuban two years ago in Oct. seeing there was anyway to watch Mav home games and he forward my email to one of Mavs VPs and he said they it was going to be tight, but they were working on solution and would keep me informed, that was maybe 18 days before they came out with Mavs TV and was one the first and they used some of my issues and they fixed them in a game or two. I am ready for some the gang to return to the net.

I did Prime too. I am not sure if I did single team. If I didn’t, I will try that because I only watched Mavs games on prime. I watched some non Mavs on national games.
I was really happy with prime. Very easy. You could pick the home or road announcers. I really liked starting the game 30-45 minutes in from the start and catching up late. Pretty seamless to do this.
I only remember 1-2 instances where things got weird, but that was probably user error.

I have prime but mine says I can add NBA TV as a subscription, it doesn't come as a free part of Prime. I got the notice that 1st of Oct. NBA TV will charge me 110 for the year and MavsTv is 125 for the year as stand alone streaming channels and like I said the first two years they give you $75 from MAVTV to spend on any Mavs item in the shop.
Now check my Prime it shows that I can add NBA League pass for 13 and month and 159 and year or League pass Premium for 20/m or 240/y and a team pass like MavsTV for 15/M and 180/y.
I am either missing something or going through Prime isn't the cheapest way to go and using two channels NBA.com league pass and MavsTV site maybe cheaper.

Nothing but a money grab from these streaming services. Then a few months later, they'll announce a price increase.

Great survey!
…but they forgot the “No” option on the question about whether they should have fired Nico.

I answered it too. But I missed an option between “I am very excited about the Mavs” and “Not very excited, but I’ll watch.”
I am super hyped because I love watching the Mavs, no matter the team, but I am not “excited” in the sense that I think they are going to be good. Playmaking and shot creation will be tough.
