AROUND the NBA:
@townbrad
Think it's going to be an extra-great year for Seattle. I'm hearing NBA Board of Governors likely to vote on expanding by two teams this summer and Las Vegas and Seattle are favored.

NBA Expansion draft coming soon and that could shake up the league in a major way.

Each team can only protect 8 players.

Maybe he's been working on his shooting, and he's getting a chance to play.  Didn't really get that chance here.

Good for him.

I like him well enough that I'd rather he be Kidd's bust than Lindsay-and-or-Nico's.

Strange move by the Hornets. They waived Pat Connaughton and signed Malaki Branham.
Now they're bringing Connaughton back, and waived Branham.

It was a roster limits issue. To do the trade with ORL that brought in some salary with draft capital as a reward, they needed an empty roster slot, but they had 15. So they had to waive someone (PC) to open a roster slot. After they got the incoming player, they waived him, and resigned the player (PC) they had in the first place.

Well they double flipped that...
Waive Connaughton - Trade with Orlando - Trade with Dallas - waive Branham - re-sign Connaughton

BTW Branham was cheaper to waive than Tyus Jones

Would be next level if Orlando were to re-sign Branham

What did Stewart do? How many Hornets are getting suspended?

Does it give the Bucks even more incentive to try?

Over/under six months until Mosley gets fired or Banchero gets traded?

Will Utah actually win the game against the Heat to prove they are not tanking?

Will Utah actually tank the game against the Heat to prove they are not tanking?

Are the Pelicans now actually beating the teams they are supposed to beat by the skill of trying?

What in the world is that Bulls rotation?

So many questions.

Newell/Risacher make the Wizards trade with Bagley even look like a winner on the player assets front.

1-6, 3 pts, 4 rebs, 1 ast, 2 TOs. Down 25 against the Wolves at HT.

Also if the Mavs do any Nets business at the draft, they better get Traore. He´s starting to put it together. Last 11 games scored in double digits six times, after doing it once in first 19 games. 16/3/8, 3.0 AST/TO over his last three games, while shooting 50/40/90.

The way Newell and Risacher are playing, we could have offered them DAR/Hardy and still lost the trade.

5 pts, 7 rebs, 4 TOs, 2/11 from the field.

Utah did it again. Up 7 mid-way through the 3rd quarter they pulled the plug on JJJ/Markkanen. Utah doing this hardcore style will put more pressure on the bottom five. I think the Pelicans will move up to 6th worst eventually, but I don´t think Mavs can catch them.

Utah almost managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, but unsuccessful.

Hornets were mad they couldn't stop Duren and the Pistons from dominating the paint. Hornets shot the 3 well and kept them in the game. Diabate made a hard foul on Duren, then got in his face nose to nose. Duren pushes him in the face to get off him. Then Diabate went ballistic. Stewart is looking at a multiple-game suspension for coming off the bench. Bridges swung on Duren and missed, then Stewart charged him. Bridges is also looking at multiple games. Even the coach, Charles Lee, got ejected. Detroit stopped Charlotte's 9-game winning streak without their two top bigs. Paul Reed played a key role in the win.

Kon Knueppel is the first rookie to reach 1,000 pts.

Risacher gives me Josh Green vibes.  He has the athletic ability and skillset.  Very low xDAWG factor though.

I remember when Josh Green got punked by Austin Reaves. That's the moment it was over for him.

I really can´t figure out Paul Reed. I´m usually good at sniffing out these low profile value bench players that eventually carve out at least 18-20 MPG bench roles, but Reed just can´t establish a role anywhere, although his numbers say he should be a productive 7th-9th man.

BBall Paul, they call him. He's the 3rd big on the roster. But he's always ready when called on, with hustle and big plays when they need him. he had a couple of steals, blocked shots, FTs, and even made a corner 3. I remember when he was with Philadelphia, he had the same impact at times when Embiid was out. Surprised Philly waived him along with Isaiah Joe, who's one of the best 3 pt shooters in the league. You never know the fate of a particular player going forward. These types of players are invaluable.

Very interesting and deep discussion with Zubac. A lot of things on how young players think, draft night and insights into NBA life. Interview is in Croatian with English subtitles.

Luka seems to look for an investment in Italian team led by former Mavs GM Donnie Nelson, which is aiming to be part of NBA Europe

One big difference is he is much more willing to pull the trigger, but he is having a rough second season.
