Trade & FA 2025-26: Free Agency Starts 5pm CST/6pm EST

Have to realize that omahen very understandably roots for LAL now, so that's his angle. "Oh, this would be good for Dallas..." LOL no it wouldn't, but he doesn't care.

I have no idea who you are talking about.  I wasn't responding to this.

Would have to be a better player than Christie, obviously, so not the most likely thing in the world.

A young PG and a starting WING.  We are thinking the same thing.

My main thing is not starting PJ or Naji at the SF/wing position.

Absolutely, Thats what I’ve been trying to say for the most part. IF any Gafford trade happens, it won’t be some underwhelming deal. It’ll be because someone met their asking price. The Mavs have positioned themselves to not have to do anything just because.

They also have more rules flexibility. I think Kuminga + Warriors 1st for Gafford would happen now, if Butler didn´t tear his ACL.

Kuminga for Klay might still happen as the Warriors last minute Kuminga exit moment, just for the feel good vibes factor.

IF Klay even wants to return. Maybe Klay is happy in Dallas and where he is in his personal life. Going back to the Warriors would increase the pressure and exposure tenfold on and off the court. I don´t get the sense that Klay wants to desperately move away from Dallas or back to the Bay.

G Kyrie | (Top-10 FRP) | Nembhard*
G Christie | Klay | Johnson
F Naji | Martin | (MLE/TPE) | Kelly*
F Flagg | PJW | (Late FRP)
C Lively | Gafford | (SRP) | Cisse*

UFA: BWill, Powell, Middleton, Bagley, Branham
* Currently Two-Ways

For me, I don’t like the Naji/Martin spot but the MLE/TPE trade could land a guy. Maybe Gafford for Mathurin solves that and you use the MLE/TPE for a backup Big to Lively? Would need to look at getting something for Naji then…

Alright… If I’m going to play out the “perfect” TDL for the Mavs and use the easiest trades to get there it’s:

Gafford for Mathurin
Naji for Saric+FRP

G Kyrie | (Top-10 FRP) | Nembhard*
G Christie | Klay | Johnson
F Mathurin | Martin | Kelly*
F Flagg | PJW | (SRP)
C Lively | (MLE/TPE) | (Late FRP) | Cisse*

Hard to blame him. The center situation in La La land is bleak and Luka deserves a good center.

Lakers own beat reporter said the Mavs and Lakers phone line is permanently disconnected for a good long while. Unless the Lakers give the Mavs Reaves+2031 and an unprotected pick swap in 2032 for Gafford (i.e. an insane overpay and assets that should've been given in the Luka trade), hard to imagine the Mavs being interested

Oh don´t worry. Mavs wíll be re-connect next year, when they tell the Lakers to give them Luka for their 2029 pick back or Mavs just sign him outright in 2028. Their own 2029 pick will be very valuable for them, when their best player is Dalton Knecht. Big Grin

Still nothing on Giannis. MIL keeping him would be a massive help to our tanking efforts.

Also I still havent fully given up on Utah actually playing JJJ for a bit. Lauri is also back.

A man can dream.

Don´t do it yourself. Utah are masters at this. A Markkanen DNP is a guaranteed loss. Even if Giannis stays the Bucks will still tank now to increase their chances at a generational talent. They´ll sell it to Giannis that they can use a Dybantsa/Boozer/Peterson pick to trade for help. And if not they can still trade Giannis in summer. There is zero upside for anybody involved to play Giannis again.

Langdon from Detroit did sign Naji. If the FRP is the swap with Minnesota that is currently #21, could maybe package that with pick #30 and get up to like what, 17 or 18?

Sam Amick: “The Warriors… came out of the gate real strong going after Giannis, and it feels very much like the Bucks essentially took their offer and have been shopping that to everybody else. …As of late yesterday,… Warriors had no counteroffer from the Bucks and were just waiting for clarity.”

The Orlando Magic are trading Tyus Jones to the Charlotte Hornets for cash considerations, sources tell ESPN.

Sources said the Hornets receive two second-round picks from the Magic in this deal, lifting them to 11 first-rounders and 14 second-rounders over the next 7 years. The trade gets Orlando out of the luxury tax.

Gafford to ATL?

Hield to replace Kennard, Gafford to be the big they've been after?

MEM just won. Ty Jerome has been HUGE since his return from injury.

MIL also with another win. GS pulled out of the Giannis race and there are reports that the Bucks might keep him.

OKC lost without Shai. Maybte we can get to #29 here.

Perfect night for the Mavs’ pick hopes.

Risacher?  Atlanta can have both of our new fake firsts.

So, Kuminga was the incentive to help GSW get off of Hield's money?
