Really fun game. I thought for sure Denver was going to come back and steal it. 

Coop turned up the aggression after deferring all night against the Pels. His 3 pointer looks so much better when he shoots a jumper instead of a set shot. I don't know if that was a conscious change, but I hope he keeps it up. 

At what point do they shut down Gafford? He's really struggling out there and seems to aggravate the ankle every game.

Virtually....CF/AD/Max/LA 2029 for Luka/Maxi and most likely a lotto pick this season.
We wouldn't have CF if we hadn't traded Luka and would probably be picking somewhere in the mid-20s in 2026.

I think I'd do that deal straight up knowing what we know now.

No, that’s not how it works. Luka could have also re-injured his calf with our incompetent medical team and been out for two months and we still could have won the lottery - and would have the perfect duo for the next 10 years.

So as long as it isn’t proven, that we won the lottery not by luck, but because the league is rigged, that „kind-of-trade“ doesn’t make sense.

I would do that trade in a heartbeat. I love Luka, but very unconvinced he will ever when a title unless he is lucky enough to be surrounded by a incredibly talented and defensive elite roster.

The play where he defended a layup with both arms up in the air, didn't foul, and forced a missed shot was probably the most impressive thing I saw all game. Some of his assists were very good as well. He's a complete player.

The Mavs only had 10 turnovers last night. If that were their average, they'd probably have at least 5 more wins under their belt.

I'm curious how we'd compare Luka as an 18 year old (the year before his rookie NBA season) to Flagg as an 18 year old.  

Year older Luka put up some pretty impressive numbers as a rookie at 21.2/7.8/6.0.  He put up 16.5 shots a game and was .427 from the field and .327 from three.  

December Flagg (10 games) is 24.1/6.2/4.5.  He has put up 16.9 shots a game and is .527 from the field and .308 from three.

I'd say it is pretty obvious Flagg is the better defender.  I'd probably buy the argument that Luka's offensive ceiling is higher (easy to do since Luka's ceiling is a proven concept).  I don't envision Flagg as a 30 point scorer, but watching those FOUR made three's made me question that.  He gets shots in the paint at will with zero spacing.  Add some spacing and give him a slightly above league average three point percentage and who knows where this thing goes.

So true, and so exciting. 

Spacing will be key. Start pulling defenders out of the paint rather than allowing four of the five Mavs on the floor to lead their defenders right into it, and this kid is going to be consistently special very quickly.
