P.J. Washington said that Klay Thompson requested clips from the 2011 NBA Finals Mavericks team be played every day around the team for extra motivation and to see what they had to go through.

Cooper Flagg said that being the Rookie of the Year is one of his goals for the season.

He wants to be himself, and everything else will fall into place.

P.J. Washington says that he’s excited about being a mentor to Cooper Flagg and that Flagg has called him “Unc” a couple of times, but he’s excited to show everyone what he’s been working on with respect to his role #MFFL

Mavs are putting themselves in pole position for 2028. Donate millions to the overlord, censor the media, deport the foreign players. Mavs will be granted Championships every year.  Smile

So by my calculations he may be 7’8 by the time Flagg is in his prime?

Seriously not sure there is a huge benefit once over 7.  Also could be concerning with a guy who has had leg injuries

I'm not sure I buy this 2" growth thing. I guess we'll see when ESPN and others start to post his height.

Maybe it helps when guarding Wemby, but I don't really see it as much of advantage especially if it alters his mobility.

To be precise, it is actually not the size but the length that matters. It would therefore be interesting to know if this has also increased by 2".

If he then just maintains his mobility, more length is of course fantastic, as long as he can stay healthy in the long term.

Kyrie Irving made it seem like there is going to be a real battle for the starting point guard spot at training camp when asked about D’Angelo Russell.

I seriously doubt this.

That's an incredibly awful reporting job, because it doesn't give us enough context to offer any way to figure out what (if anything) Kyrie said to leave that impression.

Reading his article, I think Ky gave some general thoughts about how good everyone will be, how deep the team is, etc and it got spun into more than Ky is saying.

Not that it matters, of course -- Mavs will be figuring things out up and down the lineup on an ongoing basis. Who plays when is likely to be as much about fit as it is about who's the better player. And with Kyrie being injected into the mix sometime later, plus the potential for injuries, any answer on Day 1 won't be written in ink.
