Well there is no more to really contemplate in terms of making moves till the mavs find new homes for the end of the bench guys that we need to ditch.

Id say Hardy Martin Powell and Omax need to keep their bags packed.

If I won that, I'd be too embarrassed to wear it.

Summer League Champion? That's such a Las Vegas thing.

The memes write themselves truly.

Summer League rings are hilarious. I love that. More of that NBA. They should do a whole ceremony too.

The Kings or Suns would definately throw a parade too.

First Flagg. Then Buzelis and Flipokowski dunking over everyone. Now Furphy? I sense a theme

The still shot of the Bulls defender with that expression on his face is hilarious.

@MavsFilmRoom
Tim Legler on Ryan Nembhard on the @ALLCITY_NBA show

“It’s literally like watching a miniaturized version of his brother. They play exactly the same way.”

Kinda/sorta like saying "all those Nembhard's are alike". Or, "let me have one of those, only shorter".

Tyrese Proctor 35 points. I believe his agent directed him to Clev. I don't believe he wanted to sign a two way.

A.J. Lawson makes a case
One of the standouts of the Summer League for the Raptors through the first three games was A.J. Lawson.

He looked as assertive as ever on offense, provided a big boost of scoring off the bench, and seemed to fit well into the team’s aggressive defensive style. He’s averaging 20.7 points in 23.7 minutes on 56.7 per cent field goal shooting (57.1 per cent from three) before Thursday’s game against the Golden State Warriors.

What I’m hearing from around the NBA at Summer League: Masai, Giannis, and a Flavor Flav shoutout

What I’m hearing from around the NBA at Summer League: Masai, Giannis, and a Flavor Flav shoutout
It would lead many to think the native of Mississauga would have a leg up on the final vacant roster spot Toronto has for the coming season.

But as many mentioned during a week of games in Las Vegas, a three-year NBA veteran is supposed to have a big impact on Summer League games; if he didn’t, that’d be a cause for concern.

So as good as Lawson has been, it’s unwise to even pencil him in for a roster spot — “lots of basketball between now and training camp cuts,” one executive warned.

The same point is being made about the entire Raptors roster. They’ve certainly played well and the team’s defense was outstanding through the first three games, but as a handful of executives pointed out, it’s a team that includes seven players who spent time in the NBA last season, and if they weren’t successful, that’d also be a cause for concern.

Obviously, you haven't been around AAU the last few years.  This is right in line with what they've been giving out at tournaments.  Not sterling silver, but middle-schoolers with rings big enough to fit Shaq is pretty silly.

Pelicans just have bad juju. Queen out after surgery from summer league.

Weeks after trading away Asa Newell (23rd overall pick) and a future unprotected first-round pick (either New Orleans' or Milwaukee's) to select Derek Queen at 13, he's now out for 12 weeks after presumably suffering an injury at summer league.

Too much voodoo in New Orleans.

From the Substack podcast- There are two names that stand out that I want to talk about for different reasons.

Cooper Flagg did not have a summer league to remember. In addition to poor shooting (46 percent True Shooting), Flagg had only five assists, one block, and no offensive rebounds across two games. Tom Thibodeau likes to say you don’t need to shoot well to play well and Flagg’s all-around game should have lent itself well to filling up the stat sheet. But that wasn’t the case. I’m not sounding any alarm bells, but I may (slightly) re-calibrate my expectations for him next season.

Meanwhile, Collin Murray-Boyles was the number nine overall pick by the Raptors and has looked as advertised in summer league. He’s a do-everything small ball Big that’s drawn comparisons to Draymond Green. He can’t shoot for shit, but he can pass, defend, and he leads all rookies in offensive rebounds at summer league. When you’re not a threat from beyond the arc you have to be close to perfect in every other facet of your game. So far, the early returns on Murray-Boyles’s game outside of his three-point shot look pretty good.

Egor Dëmin’s name stands out from the rest. Dëmin, who Brooklyn drafted with the 8th overall pick, took a whopping 85 percent of his shots from beyond the arc at summer league on 11 attempts per 36 minutes4. Those two numbers give us more insight into what his game might look like at the NBA level than anything else he showed at summer league, including his outstanding three-point percentage (more on that later). Only three players last season in the NBA took more than 85 percent of their shots from three: AJ Green, Sam Merrill, and Nicolas Batum. Brooklyn should have no trouble finding minutes for Dëmin alongside their other players that need the ball as long as he’s willing to take threes at close to the rate he did in summer league. And based on historical precedent, there’s good reason to believe Dëmin will be letting it fly inside the Barclays Center next year.

I don't know, but it wasn't Stein, because the writer clearly doesn't understand how "fish out of water" the summer league version of Cooper Flagg was asked to be. He handled it really, really well, actually.

Yeah, that was not the summary of CF I saw. An ESPN  article today just had him as the most promising rookie in summer league, and of course the Timpf podcast and other independent baskeball people would not have CF's summer league as looking much different than anything in that substack.

Didn’t watch much of summer league but did see highlights of the Bulls Yuki. He was signed a as a two way. Only 5’8 and tiny but boy is he exciting. Had several out of your seat types of passes. Really fun player and an easy guy to root for. Was he in a Mavs summer league roster or G league in the past?
