My one criticism is his hands when rebounding. He's got to get stronger with the ball in those situations.

Hall continues to impress. Besides his one gaff earlier where he gave up on the play, he's been solid.

Flagg being a connective passer going to be such an important skill this year. The fact he passed up a wide open corner 3 to give it to Kelly who is a better shooter is exactly what he should be doing.

Man, Flagg's ability and willingness to be a connector when the defense is in rotation is rad. I almost think he gave up the best shot by not considering that corner three, however.

Man, the Spurs have Harper and Castle on the wings, and Bryant looks to be a menace on D. Nice options to build on.

I don't know if I agree with the last statement, but I agree the willingness and ability to make that quick, connecting pass are promising.

As KL wrote, my only gripe would be with him not strongly securing rebounds. Else he is doing fine. The pull up where he took one extra dribble to get some more space from Bryant and then the drive where he kept Bryant off with one hand were both excellent because Bryant right now can give established NBA ball handlers fits. He is a Dyson clone.

Again bigs who can handle have a very high floor. Tobias Harris has made generational wealth just due to the allure of what if he finally puts it all together. Cooper has that dog in him also to go with his talent. He will be fine. Give him time.

I really like Hall’s game. The question I have is what NBA level skill does he possess?  I am limited to a game and a half, but so far I have not been able to identify a skill that will get him a spot on an NBA roster.

Every shot is short for Flagg and Nemby

Cooper is the real deal. Compare him to the all time greats when they were 18. He matches up. He is by far the best player on the court playing against guys 3-5 years older.

The good news: Mavs shooting almost as well on threes as twos.

The bad news: shooting 25%.

Sharp has been better today, but Im still with Mavs2021: they need to stop passing to him like he's Hakeem.

And as I type this, he has a Shaqtin moment on the glass against the other team's PG.

Flagg has played SO perfectly against the Spurs' pressure defense. Drawn so many fouls on drives.

Agree

The Mavs are using him as a primary playmaker.  That's not his game.   Right now, as an 18yr old, he's a bigger Andre Iguodala or more skilled Aaron Gordon.

Playing wing and having more offensive responsibility might be good for his long term development but I think he is going to struggle this year if that's the role he is asked the play.   As a 4, I think he can be an impact player right away.
