There is always a choice.  We could do nothing and choose to be bad.  Desperation rarely leads to good decisions.

D-Lo is basically a 1 year rental, he can't be a bad decision or a locker room cancer because he has no leverage here.

If you trade for street clothes then you have to accept his friends. It's useless root now.

Our better option is to be really bad at the start of the season, Fire Harrison and start a new Mavs era with a GM who build a team around Flagg&our young core trading street clothes&Irving.

Looking at a lot of the good teams it is really shocking how deep some of these teams are. I think the days of getting three stars and filling in with minimum guys are way gone. You need a really deep team to survive the regular season. The playoffs may be different, but teams are really putting a lot of emphasis on going 10 plus deep.

I agree. Another takeaway for me is the emphasis on size. Are we seeing some kind of shift in the NBA? Was Dallas a trend setter?

Its looking like the Gafford/Lively pairing started the trend. OKC knew they had to get bigger and brought in Hartenstein.

Now we add AD to that, and teams are loading up.

But what is Houston going to do with Sengun, Adams, and Capela ??

They're going to run out some 2-Big lineups also. Having the ability to do so is just as important as having the ability to go small. A deep, versatile roster is important to have when it comes to all the different playoff matchups.

I agree.   I am a big fan of having a lot of creators (with good size too), but in addition I have liked having two bigs (not dinosaur bigs) who can protect the rim and get easy baskets.   I think more teams are thinking this way.    You have to have the creators though to make it run smoothly.   

Styles makes fights.  With Luka and now without, I want the ability to force the other team to match your lineups and not vice versa.
