Free agent forward Jake LaRavia has agreed to a two-year, $12 million deal with the Los Angeles Lakers, sources tell ESPN. LaRavia had a strong finish after joining the Sacramento Kings last season.

This is exactly the amount of remaining space LA would have after using their full MLE

See? They don't need DFS. Everything is fine in sunny Los Angeles.

LMFAO

LaRavia is pretty good. I liked him a lot in Memphis.

But I'm not sure how this was a priority for the Lakers. They need a center first. LaRavia is good, but he's not a massive game changer.

Interesting decision. Some 14 mil available for Melton and two centers I expect Lakers get through FA Smile

They're gonna give Ayton the full MLE. He and LaRavia is their off season.

I don't understand why people are assuming they'll be a good team. Maybe I'm misreading the situation, but I don't expect them to be that great, personally.

Its the Lakers. They will always be pumped up to be the best of the best, regardless of reality. Unless they are that bereft.

They have Luka Doncic. A possibility hyper-motivated one at that. I think they will be good. Even with a subpar center. But a contender? Certainly not.

That would make me very happy.

I think Redick rides them hard enough and is competent enough that they'll still win a decent number of regular season games.

Seems redundant to Dalton. He’s probably headed out. If Luka is healthy and in shape, they’ll be a good regular season team. They were the 3 seed last year. They’re better now after signing Ayton and Melton and trading Dalton and salary for Wiggins.

…and letting DFS go.

…and LeBron being a year older.

Wiggins > DFS. Center is upgraded. Lebron is admittedly a wildcard, and not just because of his age. But it’s mostly just because of Luka’s vengeance tour that the Lakers will be a better regular season team. They still seem a lot better for the regular season than playoffs though.

Doncic worths PO alone... Obviously they can't win the ring with that roster but they will make another good run for sure.
