For peanuts.  Not a bad few days for Charlotte.  I liked their draft and this is a good low cost gamble.  Not bad.

Doesnt Utah have Walker Kessler and that Mormon kid from Duke? Why would they do this?

No one could beat that offer for Sexton?

What in the flying f*** is this. Call Charlotte and offer them Hardy, Omax, Powell, Martin and another 2nd round pick. Big Grin

Surely that can´t be the end of the story. Utah having another move in mind? Nurkic non-guaranteed? Huh

I heard the Mavs had a deal in place, but Utah insisted on giving up the 2nd round pick and Nico refused to accept it. Big Grin Big Grin

I simply don't understand this Sexton for Nurkic deal. Where is the value for Utah? They are obviously still rebuilding, so they are in asset accumulation mode. So why giving up a SRP to trade Sexton. Its not like Nurkic is a better player that will get them more assets at TDL.

Need to be a part of a bigger deal soon.  Needs to be.  Although I have trouble thibking Nurkic has more value than sexton.  Lauri trade?

Too bad! I am a fan of Sexton and would have preferred him here over D'Angelo Russell. Sexton is a productive player who can shoot...he's bounced around some bad teams but I think he'd be a good contributor on a team like this

Nurk and Sexton are basically same deals (only 200k difference). Charlotte doesn't have any centers left. Bunch of people guessing now this has to be part of something bigger.

No mystery here. Forum narrative seeing Sexton as some sort of prize to lust for is way diff from NBA assessment of him. He's worth a tad less than a dinosaur C no one wants.

Based on the deal, he is actually worth less, as Utah was the one paying the pick. Which is the part that doesn't really make sense.

Well then you told us Porzingis was a hot trade property that the Mavs failed to extract value from and ten minutes later he was traded for Geroges Niang. Tongue

Look, if the Jazz are doing this deal to acquire Nurkic as Shams says here... that is a very bad sign. The good news (I suppose?) is I also don't believe it — I believe they're doing the deal to make the team worse and open up guard PT.

This trade makes ZERO SENSE for Utah which means there has to be a much-bigger trade coming.

I don't remember reading that much lust for Sexton on this board.  He is a younger better player than Nurk, so plenty of reason for folks to be confused by this trade.  I would be more than happy to send Martin, Hardy and Powell for him.
