2025 draft thread: THE MAVS SELECT COOPER FLAGG

I think they got 5 of them in the KD trade.  Although, that trade hasn't been completed yet, so can you officiallly trade them?  Suns are like addicts on crack with future picks.

True, totally forgot about them. All or most of these deals will be formally executed after July 7th. So while the picks are technically not their yet, they are trading them.In the end it only comes down to correct order of registered trades.  I guess teams accept a little risk that things could go wrong and things fall apart.

Phoenix Suns are trading 52 & 59 to Golden State for No. 41, league sources say. It was known around the league that Golden State would be open to moving No. 41.

Today the Phoenix Suns traded away pick 52, 59, 2026 2nd, and 2030 2nd round pick

Tonight they draft at 36 and 41 now

The Minnesota Timberwolves are trading the first pick in tonight’s NBA draft -- No. 31 -- to the Phoenix Suns for No. 36 and two future second-round picks, sources tell ESPN. Suns continue rebuild by moving up to 31 and 41 in draft -- send out 36, 52, 59 and two future seconds.

I feel like it's unusual to read all day going into night 2 about teams already deciding to move up, despite not being 100% sure what will be there when the pick comes. Am I crazy, or is that a new thing? Maybe it has always happened this way, but we didn't hear about it so early in past years?

The Suns' war room right now is eyeing St. Joseph's big man Rasheer Fleming at No. 31, finalizing their research and scouting before making their selection at 8 pm ET on ESPN.

Take the dog for a walk and the Suns make two trades.  I tell ya.  They treat picks like a drug addict treats crack.

I like him. I think the Suns will trade Booker and just let it go.

Fleming was high up in the mocks he seems to have fallen the most of anyone.

I sort of like the Suns moves. Not sure it matters and what happens when they finally realize a path to contention is DOA? Although I have liked their moves.

They have seriously addressed their biggest weakness. But it still doesn't take away how lopsided the roster still is.

Their current roster:

Micic/----/----
Booker/Green/Beal/Allen/
O'Neal/Dunn/Brooks/Martin
---/-----/-----
Mark Williams/Maluach/Nick Richards/Fleming

So 1 PG, 8 SG/SFs, no PFs, and 4 centers.

Shams: “The Celtics were going to take Rasheer Fleming at 32, so the Suns had to jump to 31 to secure him.”

I'm shocked at how expensive some of these 2nd rounders have been. It speaks to the perceived quality of this draft still.

Fleming is a 4 man, not a center.

Annnnnnnd then they got a center with the 34th pick. Kalkbrenner is an interesting choice especially since Raynaud was there.

But his favorite player is Dirk, so with that I want Kalkbrenner to succeed all the time.

Raynaud will probably go to Philly next. Depth for Embiid.
