TRADE: Pacers Trade 23rd Pick to NOP For Their Own 2026 FRP

NBA draft deal: The Indiana Pacers are trading their No. 23 pick and the rights to Mojave King to the New Orleans Pelicans for Indiana's own 2026 first-round pick back which the Pelicans had previously acquired, sources tell ESPN.

Probably makes sense. Scouting is a year round job but the draft for Indy is the last thing they are thinking about. So they clear a little money and get their first back next year. To either use or I believe this will give them all their future picks back in case they want to use in a trade.

Pretty surprised how quick they moved the 23rd pick. Also gives us a good baseline what a mid to late FRP could be had for.

2026 Indy FRP is probably more likely to be worse than #23, so here is the value for New Orleans. Indy now has all of their future FRP available.

They'll probably move back a few spots position wise unless they repeat the slow start of this season, but that could be negated by the strength of the draft class or flexibility this affords them.
