OKC D is just suffocating. They just have those stretches where they completely eliminate offense. Turnovers and tough shots. When they get going on offense a lead can get to 20 pretty quick. Nice response by OKC. I still think they are clearly the better team. We will see if Indy can keep that magic going.

I know they didn't acquire all these guys right after college, but it is interesting OKC has a warchest of draft capital, but they have uys like Dort, Hartenstein, Wiggins, and Caruso who were all undrafted. Just shows you that talent acquisition is an every day job.

Question...hasn't he already been super involved? Don't know which is worse...this or super hands off supposedely like Dumont? I guess Dumont's role would be perfect if you had trust in your front office. You always know new owner syndrome though. They are extemely wealthy and those guys think they have all the answers.

Most of the guys who have a lot of money obtained it by being super-involved in their own businesses. Understanding all the moving parts, pushing buttons and pulling levers. 

Why should it be any different with their newest business?

The issue isn’t whether the owner is involved in making decisions or not. It’s about whether he makes good decisions. Whether he learns the business well. Whether he can learn from his own mistakes, and the mistakes of others.

My favorite player growing up was the "Iceman" who says he mentored Kevin Durant.
Both are similar in build and scoring ability.

Thomas Bryant gave the Pacers great minutes in game 1 and was just dreadful last night and for the reasons you stated, they can't afford those types of minutes from any of their players.  Indy has to be pleased with the split, but last night was an ass kicking which is a little worrisome.

That's how I see it as well. Haliburton can't have poor starts and not be aggressive in the first half of games. He came on in the second half, but the lead was too big to overcome. Pascal Siakam needs to have a big game for them to win, too.

Exactly.  Game 1 was lightning in a bottle, like 1:1000000 shot.  They'll get one more win at home, then they'll be home.

As I have noted before, I would caution against the assumptions that (a) the results of the last game are determinative of the next aka new-found momentum in a series, and (b) the change of venue won't really matter.

In former days, the goal of the lesser seed in the Finals was to get a split on the road, then return home and protect home court. IND has done step 1. And and after their G1 win, its possible all we saw was a letdown in G2 after mission accomplished by G1. 

Now we see how much their game is raised by playing at home and whether they can protect HCA. 

This series is far from over, and IND (not OKC) has the benefit of HCA from here. Just saying. Be smart. Don't overreact.
